A number of years ago a Japanese neighbor explained to me that there are 40 varieties of cherry blossom trees in the Seward Park  neighborhood with each variety blooming at a slightly different time--all between March and May.  And their blooms last for about two weeks depending on the weather!!! A couple of good days of strong wind  and the blossoms life expectancy shrinks considerably!   Each year I pick a few trees to photograph. This year the trees are actually in the park itself and not just around  the Lake Washington -Seward Park neighborhood.
