I broke down these pictures into sets and put the explanations at the begining of each set.  Please let me know of any corrections or added information that I should have included or corrected.

This first set of pictures are of:

The beach-it's the only sandy beach that we saw on the island-,

The Old City entrance to the La Kay Ancha which is the heart of the Jewish Quarter,

A small but important gateway to the sea in the northeast residential area of the Jewish Quarter.

This next set of pictures are a sample of the streets and homes in the Jewish Quarter. The Yellow-Orange buliding is called the Spot Hotel. I was told that this was my Benveniste Grandparents home. Many of the Jewish homes were bombed by the Allies while fighting the Nazis. Some homes were rebuilt and used as homes or turned into small hotels or restaurants by Greeks, and others were left destroyed.

The following pictures are of various institutions.

The first building was used to hold coffins and prayer books that needed to be buried in the cemetery.

The next doorway and plaque was to acknowledge the Notrica family donation of this building to help the community. The following building has another plaque in Hebrew noting a Notrica donation of a building.

I do not recall what the next building was used for.

The last plaque is all that is left of the alliance Israelite Universlle School
